REFLECTIONS OF HOME PAINTING:Paint a masterpiece that pays tribute to an idea of home. Projects will be featured on the StoryWalk Trail during the month of September as part of the 2024 'Reflection of Home Arts Festival. Class is held at the Maker Space at Ruby B. MOONLIGHT PADDLE:Kayak on the Dan River in the light of the full moon. Paddlers will be provided with headlamps; previous paddling experience required. SATURDAY, JUNE 22

DAY OF ACTION:The United Way of Danville-Pittsylvania County will hold a day of action from 9 a.m. to noon at beginning at the JTI Fountain next to Me's Burgers cleaning up trash along the Riverwalk Trail and near the Dan River Bridge Crossing. SLAM DUNK INTO LEARNING:In partnership with Trauma and Resiliency Network, join Coates Recreation Center from 1 to 4 p.m. for a Father's Day event designed to strengthen the bond between dads and their children while combining the thrill of basketball with educational experiences. ANGLERS PARK TO MILTON, NORTH CAROLINA RIVER TRIP:Enjoy a peaceful and scenic paddle as we cross from Virginia into North Carolina. After our float, we will visit a restaurant local to Milton. Meet at Anglers Park Boat ramp. Meal is on your own, but we provide shuttles, gear and instructions from river guides. Ages 18 and up. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost $40 per person. LESSONS IN 3D PRINTING:Learn the basics of Tinkercad, a free on-line 3D modeling program and then follow along with step by step lessons to master the art of 3D printing in the Computer Lab at Ruby B. Archie Library. No fee. Ages seven to 12 years of age. Session I: 4 to 5 p.m.; Session 2: 5 to 6 p.m. Take home a premade 3D object. Registration required by calling, 434-799-5195. MORNINGS WITH THE MASTERS ART CAMP:Mornings with the Masters Art Camp at Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History for ages 4 through 6 from June 25-28 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $25 per child. Mornings with the Masters is a four-day art camp for children ages 4-6. Ignite your child’s creativity with four days of art, games, stories, and fun with Museum educator, Karan Johnson. Students will paint like Pollock, make a mini-Monet, cut and glue like Matisse, and create a Van Gogh while learning fundamental elements of art through the works of some of the world’s most famous artists.
